Sooo..A long hot summer has caused more delays but alas..finally some finished projects and yippie finished furniture!! I think I was equally excited to get to post something finished on this blog (took me long enough!) as I was to actually get it finished. I do not live along the equator last time I checked, however mother nature does not seem to understand this. Nor does she understand that when you are trying to accomplish something that is weather dependant (like paint), you NEED her to help a girl out! I am so happy with the way this piece turned out. I have been hunting all over for just the right bench for our master, and finally decided to use this past it's prime coffee table. A few cuts with skil saw (performed by Mr. F) and the transformation began. (I do realize just how bad the background is in all of the before pics, but I did manage to take them, so I will beg your forgiveness here) I have to vent a bit on our local resources as far as fabric goes. Not one single store carried anything in grey. Timeless, simple, beautiful grey. Nothing anywhere. So I took myself to my local Target and there waiting for me was the perfect grey (already made into a window panel, a trick I will admit to using for other projects in the past). One pair of scissors later, I have it ready to be mounted. I love the finished product, what do you think??

And then there is this little dark, ugly, hiding in the basement chair. Just waiting for it's time to shine. A little spraying, a little sanding, pull about a million upholstery nails (who needs that many really!) and some new fabric, in grey and white (ha!..I did find the only yard in a 50 mile radius) and there, no more hiding in the basement. There is a perfect sunny corner in our master just waiting for it.

Ahhh, the dresser that took forever! A steal for $10 at a sale, I think to myself, take it home, a little sanding, fresh coat of paint, and a nice new dresser for our daughter. Umm No. This little treasure sat neglected for so long that she was thirsty beyond belief, There was a time when I thought there would be no way this would ever turn out. Oh me of little faith, for today our daughter filled her new dresser with all of her goodies. I added a glamous black mirror and it suits her style perfectly. (I might add for some reason her room looks a bit purple in the pics, it is not. It is a tiffany blue with a little less aqua) I will be posting bedroom pics from her room for those of you wondering about decor for a teen girl.
I hope you enjoy the results. All the work always brings rewards, even if it takes awhile. Happy Thursday...Jennifer
